Billy Garan – Headliner – Comedian
Billy Garan began his career performing stand-up at Catch A Rising Star in New York City. He expanded his career by joining a comedy troupe called Funny Business which toured hundreds of colleges throughout the country. Billy’s staggering list of impressions is demonstrated in his “Hollywood High” routine where he plays all the characters in a classroom of celebrity students, ranging from Truman Capote to Sylvester Stallone. He not only does the voices with superb accuracy, but also the mannerisms. Billy’s high energy and machine gun style delivery have defined him as a unique talent having made him a valuable opening act for Robert Klein, Jay Leno, and Jerry Seinfeld. He has produced, written and performed numerous radio commercials and has been seen doing comedy on NBC, Showtime and A&E. His career as an actor has covered a wide range of appearances from ABC’s “Phenom,” & “America’s Funniest People,” NBC’s “Saved by the Bell,” & “California Dreams,” Showtime’s “Sherman Oaks,” and an ABC pilot called “Worlds Apart.”
Lisa Alvarado – Featured Comedian
Lisa Alvarado is one funny Latina! She has transformed her unique life experiences as a Single Parent into a hilarious comedy routine. Her natural charisma on stage, beauty, and sense of humor make her the complete package.
Born in Chicago to Peruvian parents, Lisa knew she wanted to be a Stand Up Comedian at an early age. She writes all her own material and enjoys teaching and writing for other Stand Up Comedians. She also toured with the Player’s Workshop of Second City in Chicago performing Improv, which has given her impeccable comedic timing.
Lisa’s talent as a Comedian has given her the opportunity to perform all across America as well as several regional Comedy Festivals. She currently performs in the top clubs nationally, colleges, and corporate shows. Lisa’s TV appearances include NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”, Nick at Nite’s “The Search for the Funniest Mom in America 2″, SiTv, and “Que Loco Comedy Jam” to name a few.
According to Carol Leifer, Lisa’s comedy has a “really great point of view and attitude, and comedy that people haven’t seen before… a really fresh voice” When Katey Sagal saw her perform, she said, “I loved it, it was great!” Recently, the New York Times wrote an article featuring Lisa called “A Mom’s Riff on the Parodies of Parenthood” in which they quoted one of Lisa’s favorites jokes, “…And I’m not even the typical Latina… because I got pregnant in my late Teens.”
Lisa now resides in Los Angeles while she is happily pursuing her acting and comedy career.
Kyle Erby – Host
Kyle Erby started in show business as an intern at the Tonight Show. He was actually told by Jay Leno that he should do stand up. Since leaving the Tonight Show to pursue his own career, Kyle has been back to act in several Tonight Show sketches and has sold monologue material to his former Tonight Show boss. Kyle has appeared in various movies including "House Party 4," and the HBO film "Tempted" starring Burt Reynolds. He's done commercials for Pepsi, Chinet Paper Plates, Pringles, Sponge Bob, Wal*Mart, Radio Shack with Howie Long and Terry Bradshaw, & a Bud Light add with Carlos Mencia that was featured on “Good Day L.A,” “Entertainment Weekly,” “Conan Obrien,” "The NBA Playoffs," and The “SUPER BOWL!” Kyle was a semifinalist to be in the house on the first season of NBC's "Last Comic Standing" for which he was granted an interview on "Access Hollywood." He's also done sketch comedy on The Wayne Brady Show and has been the warm up comic for "Hollywood Squares."
