Headliner – Susan Rice
Susan stepped on a stage as a comic in 1983 and it changed her life. The third child of an architect and a homemaker, she grew up in Longview WA and had a typical small town childhood. Susan majored in theater in college and attended USIU School of Performing Arts in San Diego CA.  Returning to the Pacific North West after college and settling in Portland, she performed in the local theater scene until finding comedy. Working with some great comics during her first few years of comedy such as; Jerry Seinfeld, Paula Poundstone, Robert Wuhl and Bob Saget, Susan listened and tried to learn everything she could from these "seasoned pros" that were still young to the business.

After about two years she felt ready for Hollywood and packed up her 74' Super Beetle and moved to Los Angeles. The first years in LA were grueling but Susan got busy and in 1988 was invited to perform on ABC for the prestigious producer George Schlatter of "Laugh In" fame. Schlatter encouraged and used her on several of his, "Comedy Club" shows on ABC. Those shows led to others such as; “Evening at the Improv”, Showtime's, “Comedy on the Road” and the “Reunion Show” and Comedy Express for Fox.

Tahoe Comedy North is please to welcome Susan at her first appearance at Crystal Bay Casino.

Feature – Tonya Kaye
Tonya Kaye has spent the last decade honing her skills not only as a comic but as an actress as well, appearing in a number of television shows and movie appearances which include, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The West Wing, the original Man Show, Looney Tunes the Movie with Steve Martin. Tonya has also opened for, Tommy Chong and Larry the Cable Guy.

Originally from Oklahoma City Oklahoma she’s a force to be reckoned with as she spins her down home humor and a wicked southern drawl. She holds nothing back in her fast paced and unexpurgated look within herself and the world around her. Her likeability the moment she walks onstage is obvious and you would never expect the Pandora’s Box of comedy tidbits about to be unleashed on an unsuspecting audience. Fasten your seat belts, its going to be a bumpy night!

Host – Lynn Ruth Miller

Lynn started doing comedy on stage when she was 71 years old and hit the headlines in Edinburgh at the 2005 International Fringe Festival for jumping out of a cake (almost) and removing her clothes (not quite.)   She left them laughing when she sat on their laps in 2006 and in 2007, she was dubbed the new Joan Rivers of Fringe Comedy.  Now she is 75 and she swears she hasn’t gotten the last laugh yet. She made it to Las Vegas in America’s Got Talent, 2008 and won the People’s Choice Award at the 2009 Branson Comedy Festival.

Guest Spot – Mari-Esther Kaplan

Mari-Esther Kaplan beat out 140 comics to be the first female winner in the history of the Rooster T. Feather’s Comedy Competition in Sunnyvale, CA! She was also a finalist in the national Las Vegas Laugh Across America Comedy Competition so it’s no accident that Mari is a sought after host. Her likeable nature and Habanero-hot, Mexican-American perspective make her a relevant and exciting comic. Mari takes the audience with her on a surprising and zany ride through her many experiences as a mother, a wife, and as a misunderstood member of her Jewish husband’s family. She adds wonderful dimension to her act by seamlessly zipping between character work and good old fashioned comic story telling. Mari is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC and has trained with William Esper and with Obie Award winning Stephen Rosenfield at the American Comedy Institute in NYC. Her TV credits include, Law & Order and a national commercial for Seagate.
