H A Distributors presents a special R-Rated April Fool’s Tahoe Comedy North on Wednesday, April 1st at the Crystal Bay Club Crown Room. Doors open at 7:00 and show starts at 8:00. There will be plenty of Foolin’ around with your headliner, Daniel Dugar, featuring Debbie Campo and host, Aaron Wilson. Kimmie Kay will appear in the guest spot. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the show and are available at the Crystal Bay Club, Incline Cleaners, Grog & Grist, Noah’s Video, C B’s Pizza, and New Moon Natural Foods in Tahoe City and Truckee. Headliner – Daniel Dugar
Born in New Orleans and raised in the Oakland, San Francisco Bay Area, Dugar is one of the funniest up and coming comics in the country. He’s like a breath of fresh air! Having opened up for such acts like D.L. Hughley, Damon Wayans, Cedric the Entertainer, “The Kings of Comedy” Tour and many musical acts from Patti LaBelle to Earth, Wind and Fire. Dugar plays comedy clubs and colleges across the country as well as appearing on HBO, BET Comic View, Showtime at the Apollo and the Montreal Comedy Festival. Dugar delivers hard-hitting comedy that is right on the money. He is a fixture of the hip hop comedy scene and regularly works all over the country. His humorous observation on his personal life and current events along with his quick wit makes Dugar a talent that you are sure to hear about and love. We welcome Daniel on his Tahoe Comedy North debut!
Feature – Debbie Campo
Watching Debbie perform is like being in the company of a good friend. Her saucy, edgy sense of humor appeals to many audiences, treating the crowd like guests at her party! Making it to the finals of Nick at Nite’s Funniest Mom in America 3 with Roseanne Barr, she was also a finalist in 2006 Rooster T. Feathers and 50 Mason Comedy Club comedy competitions. She is a regular at the Punchline in San Francisco and Rooster T. Feathers in Sunnyvale. She has performed at comedy clubs coast to coast including Gotham, Carolines, Comic Strip Live, The San Jose Improv, The Purple Onion and this, her first appearance with Tahoe Comedy North.
Host – Aaron Wilson
Local funny man Aaron Wilson takes making people laugh seriously, "One thing I try to do is make people pee their pants, if I can do that I know I've done well. Getting his start in Elko, Aaron hosted pig auctions then moved on to funerals and finally got his big break at an open mic in Sparks. Since then he's appeared several times with Tahoe Comedy North in the Crown Room at the Crystal Bay Club and Tahoe Gal. "Eventually I'm going to go back and buy that dang pig farm!!" Look for Aaron on Comedy Central and HBO.
Guest Spot – Kimmie Kay
Coming from the Capital City of California, Sacramento has its very own home grown comic- Kimmie Kay. She states that since childhood there has always been a passion to be in the arts. Little did she know, it would be comedy rather than an actress or a singer. While learning her craft as an entertainer, Kimmie Kay began singing Karaoke, not letting her lack of singing talent deter her. In January 2008 Kim stepped out on faith and went to an open mic night in Sacramento. That led to many appearances she has made around Sacramento from attending several different open mic sessions to opening up for the great Daniel Dugar, Dell Vandyke, Alex Thomas, Scruncho, G-Thang and BET’s Rodney Perry. She has also Auditioned for Bill Bellamy’s “We got Jokes” in LA, and she performs once a month on Sunday's at BT Kingsley’s Grown N Sexy Comedy.
