H A Distributors presents Tahoe Comedy North on Wednesday, July 29th, at the River Ranch Lodge. Doors open at 7:00 and show starts at 8:30. Your headliner for the night is Rusty Dooley, offering a high-energy, visual and theatrical performance. Also appearing on stage is the featured comedian, Anthony Hill, with local comedian, Aaron Wilson as your host and a guest appearance by Liz Grant. Headliner – Rusty Dooley
Rusty Dooley is one of today's hottest rising comedians. His high concept high energy comedy leaves audiences gasping for air around the country and internationally. He recently returned from a world tour with Russell Peters performing sold out shows in 5000 seat theatres in the Far East and India. His visual style and theatrical show cross all language barriers. Rusty honed his craft at the world famous Comedy Store on The Sunset Strip. His love for movies and passion for comedy have combined and developed over a ten year period and the result is Rusty's act as it is today. Where better to develop an act built around movie scene's than Hollywood?
Rusty pumps up the audience with his animated style and whirl wind blend of props and costumes. He was recently voted the funniest comic by 944 Magazine and currently has a deal with Miramax to produce a one hour comedy DVD. Growing up in Oroville Ca. (where gravy is considered a beverage) Anthony Hill soaked in and rebelled against his redneck surroundings. As with most comedians, he was the class clown spending lots of time in the principal’s office. Anthony has performed in every major comedy club in the Bay Area including the Punchline, Cobbs Comedy Club, and the San Jose Improv, where he is considered a ‘favorite’, sharing the stage with national headliners such as Brett Butler, Maria Bamford, Willie Barcena, Robert Schimmel, Darrell Hammond, Jeff Dunham, Bob Saget, and Brian Regan. Anthony is also busy working in small clubs, corporate functions, comedy festivals, and major benefits every week of the year.
Host – Aaron Wilson
Local funny man Aaron Wilson takes making people laugh seriously, "One thing I try to do is make people pee their pants, if I can do that I know I've done well. Getting his start in Elko, Aaron hosted pig auctions then moved on to funerals and finally got his big break at an open mic in Sparks. Since then he's appeared several times with Tahoe Comedy North in the Crown Room at the Crystal Bay Club and Tahoe Gal. "Eventually I'm going to go back and buy that dang pig farm!!" Guest Spot – Liz Grant
Liz Grant has been a stand up comic for nine years, was a winner of The Brian Regan Impression Contest, a writer for George Carlin's Laugh.com and now performs her own one woman stand up comedy show called Deja Wince: Lessons From A Failed Relationship Expert.
