Headliner – Bruce Mickelson
Bruce "Big John" Mickelson is a long-time Las Vegas favorite, having headlined numerous comedy and production shows on the famous Las Vegas Strip and all over the United States.
An 8-year veteran of The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, Mickelson was recruited to headline "Comedy Cabaret" at the Maxim Hotel and was such a smash; the show’s producer tapped him also to star in the Aladdin Hotel's CMA award-winning "County Tonite." Las Vegas audiences were so enthusiastic about Bruce's "Big John" character that when “Country Tonite” opened in Branson, MO, Pigeon Forge, TN and Biloxi, MS, "Big John" was the only natural choice to star in those productions as well.
A talented comedy writer, Mickelson starred in "The Great One," his own production-style tribute to Jackie Gleason, which delighted Biloxi audiences during its run. Versatile and vast, Mickelson's acting and comedic repertoire includes numerous characters, and his improvisational skills are unparalleled.
Bruce has made many charitable appearances as well, and has been a guest on the nationally televised Jerry Lewis MDA and Children’s Miracle Network Telethons. Mickelson’s TV credits include appearances on "It’s Garry Shandling's Show" and "The Oprah Winfrey Show," where he was a featured guest. In June of 2006, he took a turn as guest chef on The Food Network's hit cooking show "BBQ with Bobby Flay." Included in Mr. Mickelson's already impressive list of credits are countless voice-overs for film, television and radio.
Feature – Andrew Norelli
Andrew Norelli was born in New York, and raised in Danville, California. Raised with a New York mentality, but in California surroundings, his sense of humor reflects this blend. He mixes bold sarcasm with a laid back feel. Sometimes a point is made, sometimes it's pure absurdity. Sometimes dark, sometimes off-beat, his material is hard to forget. His credits include "The Byron Allen Show", "Live at Gotham" on Comedy Central, and the nationally syndicated show "Comics Unleashed," where he also works as a monologue joke writer. After appearing at the Montreal Comedy Festival, his performance was praised in the publication Time Out New York.
Host – Ed Miller
Originally from NYC, Ed Miller escaped from Cape Cod in 1976 and has been serving a life sentence on Tahoe's West Shore ever since. A radio actor and voice-over artist, Ed is co-owner of Wild West Communications Group. Ed's commercials have won Silver Microphone Awards for the Best Use of Humor in a US Radio Spot. He says doing voice-overs, books on tape, and character voices is a way to have multiple personalities and get paid for it!
Ed has emceed hundreds of events, but his friends keep urging him to do stand-up (they seem to think he is a funny guy!). In his "spare time" this allegedly "funny guy" rides his BMW cycle throughout the west with his wife Lolly. He says that only dogs who ride in cars with their heads out of the window know why motorcyclists enjoy the ride. His Malamute puppy Rubi has confirmed this theory! |
